Production
Production takes place at our plants in Kälarne and Ludvika.
The production process, step by step
Raw material
Inspection and selection
All trees are inspected/marked before felling.
Debarking
For the best possible timber care, each log is immediately debarked on arrival at the production plant.
Air drying/artificial drying
As soon as they have been debarked the logs are stacked in piles for air drying for about a year, or they are dried in our specially constructed solid wood dryers for about three days.
Dressing/peeling
When the moisture level of the wood falls below 28% the log is dry enough for impregnation. To remove resins and to achieve a good surface finish, about 3-5 mm of the surface wood is shaved off. This procedure also means that the penetrative effect of the impregnating agent reaches the heart.

Impregnation
The poles are impregnated with creosote oil that is distilled from coal tar, or with a copper-based metallic salt, in accordance with all the relevant standards.
Inspection
After impregnation the penetration and absorption of the impregnation solution in the sapwood is checked.
